Accumulator System
Main parts of the “AS” braking system
- Dual hose coupling, including steel cable
- Accumulator in various sizes
- Brake valve with manual release pump
- Electric cabling
- Load sensing valve, or fixed positions
- Simple brake cylinders of various sizes for cam brake systems
- Please note that the mechanical handbrake lever with associated brake cables is not shown in this illustration
Advantages of accumulator systems
- The “AS” system is more compact than the “CTS” system in terms of installation
- The “AS” system does not have a larger tank than the “CTS” system
- The “AS” system does not require large combination brake cylinders
- The “AS” system can also activate internal wheel cylinders together with pressure limiters
