Dual circuit braking systems are compliant with new EU regulations 2015/68. There are lots of advantages; from the manufacturers’ standpoint, this system – which is available in several variants – is an outstanding solution in technical terms, and it makes it much easier to sell their machines with a common set of rules rather than obtaining certification against the unique rules of each country. Certification in accordance with 2015/68 is sufficient.
1. Handbrake with electric sensor signal to the TBU valve (2) to indicate that the solenoid integrated in the TBU valve is applying the parking by draining the release pressure 15–35 bar to 0 bar when the driver applies the parking brake from the cab.
2. TBU Trailer brake valve
For dual circuit brake systems
CL = Control line, 0–150 bar
SL = Supplement line, 15–35 bar
3. Dual circuit coupling, trailer Hydraulic dual circuit coupling with steel cable
4. Brake valve, trailer accumulator system Release pump, manual included Accumulators of various sizes
5. Pressure limiter Available automatically when there is a movement after load, as well as a manual type with several pressure modes if there is no movement in the structure to regulate the pressure
6. Brake cylinder External for cam brake, or internal wheel cylinder for drum brake. Combination disc brakes are also available that have all features in the same brake unit; service, emergency and parking. Rydahls is able to integrate these features into this new dual circuit system compliant with the 2015/68 regulations.
Get in touch with us here at Rydahls for a brief introductory training course on these dual circuit systems – Rydahls “brake school dual-line 2015/68”.
Rydahls has extensive experience with both types of systems and has been active in supporting customers from sizing the right brake system items to assisting with certification with various licensing bodies such as TÜV Nord.
Rydahls stocks these system items as requested by customers and also has TBU valves mounted on the tractor. The company also has transition adapters if the farmer has old machinery that he wants to use to move machines within the fenced farm area with a dual circuit system.
However, the system cannot be used with a “single-line adapter” on public roads unless the country’s own regulations indicate otherwise. When using a hydraulic transition adapter on an older tractor that has a single circuit brake valve instead of a dual circuit valve in accordance with 2015/68.
