Parking brake and emergency brake

At Rydahls, we also supply parking brakes that also work as emergency brakes. Sometimes a parking brake should only be used as a parking brake, but equally often you want the parking brake to act as an emergency brake as well. This is in case the ordinary service brakes stop working, e.g. due to an oil leak in pressure lines.

There are a number of different variants of parking brake and emergency brake, so you must choose the solution according to the type of vehicle and the requirements and needs of your brake system. Contact us at Rydahls and we will help devise the best solution for you and your company. Of course, in addition to the brake system itself, we also supply pedals, controls, rigid brake hoses and other valves to make up a complete brake system.

Below are some examples of product groups for parking/emergency brakes:

Parking brake and emergency brake for disc brakes

Parking brake and emergency brake for disc brakes

For disc brakes, there is a variant called SAHR (Spring Applied Hydraulic Release) and this has both a parking brake and an emergency brake.

Parking brake and emergency brake for multi-disc brakes

Parking brake and emergency brake for multi-disc brakes

When you need a parking brake and emergency brake for multi-disc brakes, a combination cylinder of SAHR type is used.

SAHR FSG110 – with two negative-type emergency brakes

SAHR FSG110 – with two negative-type emergency brakes

To the left is an example that has a brake disc and two SAHR brakes in size FSG110 with two negative-type emergency brakes. The system also comprises a manual pump for use in the event of a hydraulic pump failure. The diaphragm cylinder, master cylinder and brake fluid reservoir are also illustrated.

SAHR FSG110 is one of several sizes you can select to add a self-adjusting function to allow for the wear of the brake pads over time.

Hand brake

A hand brake can be either mechanical or hydraulic; we can supply both types. The following is an example of a hydraulic hand brake:

hand brake valve

Hydraulic proportional hand brake valve

This hand brake valve makes it possible to control negative-type SAHR (Spring Applied Hydraulic Release) brakes. It is a small, compact hand brake valve producing a unique proportional braking sensation. Can be delivered in a variety of versions to suit your needs.

Also available with electric position warning and integrated hand pump to mechanically pump independent hydraulic pressure if ordinary hydraulic systems fail for some reason. The hand pump can be seen in the illustration on the right.
