Main parts of the “CTS” braking system
- Dual hose coupling, including steel cable
- Tank with brake valve, and with manual release pump
- Load sensing valve, or fixed positions
- Combination spring brake cylinders of various sizes for cam brake systems
- Brake cylinder, standard variant
- Can also be built for SAHR disc brakes, or for drum brakes with internal wheel cylinders with associated pressure relief valves
Advantages of a spring brake-based system without a mechanical hand brake
- The “CTS” system can also be used for SAHR disc brakes, which is a combination brake with mineral oil seals
- The “CTS” system can be used for cam brakes
- The “CTS” system does not require a mechanical handbrake with associated brake cables and a mechanical balancing unit
- The “CTS” system does not need an accumulator or electrical connection to the tractor to notify the operator that the energy level for the emergency braking function is too low for travel
- The “CTS” system does not need a light in the cab of the tractor to alert the operator to a low energy charge level
